1.I think they feel that their son may not be alive any more. I also think that they know that they're taking up space. They also want to leave because of all the woman that have been raped and dragged into the fields.2.I don't think that they should have left him behind because what if he shows up?. I also agree with them because things were getting out of hand, with all the drunk men and everything else like having to dig the trash for food.3. Why do you think Yoko has changed so much, do you notice any major diffrence?

1) I agree with you on this one. I agree with what you said about Hideo maybe dead. And as Julian said I think the raping part was a good explantion to leave!
B) I agree with the part when you said that they should of have not left Hideo all by him self. But the mother, Yoko and Ko did not have another choce so they had to leave with out Hideo.
Question: I agree with Julian. She has to act like a boy. I noticed that she does not whine that much anymore. Because she has to act like a boy.

a. I agree with you, it's really sad how Yoko, Ko, and there mom think that Hideo might not be alive anymore, and the raping is also a good reason why thay have to leave, they are also probobly taking up a lot of space at the train station for people that are barely getting to Seul.
b. I agree with you that I think that they shouldn't have left Hideyo behind, but they kind of had to or they would have been killed or something.
Question: I think that Yoko has changed because now, after her journey she has been through so much more than 5 months ago. She also treis not to whine as much.

1. I guess they left because they did not want to be raped, but not only that they did not want to get captured or killed, especially because of their father's job.
1b. I agree that they should of not left Hideyo behind, but they kinda were forced to because they were running out of room in the camp.
2. I think Yoko changed because she has gone through a lot. At first, she used to whine and complain that she didn't really got what she want. Later, she started to take more care of herself and Ko.
